Tooting resident to raise awareness of mental health issues
Tooting resident and business owner Tamika Hunter has entered this year’s Miss British Beauty Curve, a “plus size beauty pageant that encourages women of different shapes and sizes and from all walks of life to take part, and to show the world how amazingly diverse Great Britain really is.” Over to you Tamika...
“My name is Tamika Hunter I was born and raised in Putney but work in Tooting, Wimbledon and the surrounding areas.
“I am currently running for Miss British Beauty Curve 2019, representing South London. After overcoming a long battle of depression and self hate, I found my way out of the darkness with the amazing help from my family and friends, and learned to love myself again.
“I will be taking part in the pageant, (held on 24th August 2019) not just for myself, but on behalf of other women out there that have been through a similar situation.
“If I am crowned Miss British Beauty Curve, I will aim to launch my own mental health awareness charity. In the meantime I wish to lend a helping hand to any local charities.
“I am also currently seeking sponsorship and would be grateful for any help that local businesses or individuals would be kind enough to offer.
“Please see out my social media accounts to follow my journey and show your support.”
