Giving and sharing for Christmas
![]() |
Kavita Bowry, Communications and Development Manager at Share Community on how Share are preparing for Christmas, how you can donate whilst you shop for presents, where to get your Christmas wreaths and more. |
They say it is a time for giving. And, this year, as you prepare for your Christmas festivities, we’re asking you to share as well.
Shopping with Amazon Smile
If you shop at Amazon this Christmas, we’re asking everyone to ‘Shop for Share’ with AmazonSmile, which is the same Amazon you know offering the same products, same prices and same service. The difference is that by clicking on https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ and choosing Share Community as your chosen charity, Amazon will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to Share at no extra cost to you.
Amazon is holding its Cyber Monday Sale starting on Monday 26th November 2018 so please do remember to support Share through AmazonSmile and share the joy.
Order your Christmas wreath from Share Nurseries
A reminder that Tooting-based Share Nurseries, a social enterprise of Share Community, is still taking orders for Christmas wreaths. This work helps to provide valuable work experience and employability skills for all our students. To order your handmade Christmas wreath, contact Sarah Bailes, Share’s Horticulture Training Manager, via email [email protected] or telephone 020 3513 6460 or 020 7924 2949.
Leave a lasting legacy
What is most important and dearest to you, and what will you leave as your lasting legacy? It is a sobering thought among all the celebrations that Christmas brings. Which is why we’re asking everyone to think about writing a will to make sure your wishes are carried out even after you’ve gone and why we’ve published a guide to writing and updating a will.
We know it is one of those difficult and emotional tasks that often falls off the to do list, but this document provides useful information on why it is important to make a will, the things you need to consider when making or updating your will, what the process is and who to contact to help you draft and register your will.
If you'd like to remember Share in your will and make a difference in your community even after you've gone, please contact, Share's CEO, Annie McDowall, in confidence via email [email protected] or telephone 020 7801 9817.
Like most small charities, we rely on the support and generosity of our local community, so thank you for your support this Christmas.
