This Weekend: Organ Festival @ MK Museum
Travel back in time with MK Museum’s Organ Festival, an event inspired by the historic days of fairground fun and delightful organ music.
Don’t miss this weekend’s big Organ Festival Event at MK Museum, taking place from Saturday 7th to Sun 8th October and open to all ages. Bring the whole family and enjoy a day out with the beautiful sounds of organ music and spectacular exhibits of retro fairground organs of all shapes and sizes!
This fun-filled event will let you journey back in time to the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s when fairground organs and mechanical pianos were in their prime. Back in the day when town fairs were the biggest event of the year and people from all walks of life would come out day and night to enjoy the funfair rides, games and candyfloss.
This fantastic event allows us to relive those times, with an impressive collection of organs and mechanical players that are as wonderful to listen to as they are to look at. Some of the machines have even been purpose built to continue the tradition, and their creators will be there to chat to anyone who is interested in finding out more about them.
There will also be some fancy dress and some shopping / raffle / prizes so it’s sure to be a sound-sational weekend at the museum!
All other exhibitions are open as normal and standard admission prices apply (which will also give you FREE entry for the following 12 months when Gift Aid is given).
