MK City Council’s new activity centre, Sport Central is officially open and features a full size 3G synthetic turf pitch, tennis court and more.
Sport Central is now open and offers brand new sporting facilities including a 3G pitch for football and rugby, a multi-games area for basketball and netball, a tennis court, a pavilion with state of the art changing rooms, two party rooms overlooking the pitch, and a club room for events.
The centre was built by Milton Keynes Council in partnership with Milton Keynes Sports Board and has also been funded by Sport England and The Rugby Football Union. With an aim to increase participation in sports across all age groups for the people of Milton Keynes.
Built on reclaimed land from the original National Hockey Stadium, this centre is truly an iconic development in MK and will provide local families with a place to keep fit and take part in team sports.
The new Sport Central aims to be a hub with a range of sports and activities available for the wider community, of all levels and abilities. And the council intend on introducing new activities in the very near future, including things like Walking Netball and Walking Football.
To find out more about the new sports centre, visit the Milton Keynes Council website.
