Half Term in MK: The Best Parks for Children
Looking for some fun (and FREE) things to do with the kids this Half Term? Here are some of the best outdoor parks in Milton Keynes to keep them active and entertained in your local area.
When it comes to planning for the school Half Term, it’s important to keep your kids stimulated with fun and exciting activities. Outdoor fun is the best way to keep them fit and active, whilst also promoting a bit of creative play. And Milton Keynes is a great town full of wonderful green space and parkland for you to do just that. Here are some of the best parks for children to check out this Half Term:
Stanton Low Park
Located within Oakridge Park, Stanton Low is a great place to come no matter the weather. So wrap up warm and come and enjoy the lovely views and beautiful outdoor space.
It offers attractive views across the valley of the River Great Ouse and despite being one of the newer parks, this area is steeped in history. Making it the perfect weekend spot for all ages, for dog walking, for sports or just for taking a gentle stroll. It also features a superb natural wood play area for children, so they’ll be entertained for hours.
Address: Spinners Walk, Oakridge Park, Milton Keynes MK14 6FS
Brooklands Park
This is without a doubt one of the best parks with a playground for children and it has so many amazing features, climbing frames, slides and apparatus to stimulate young minds and inspire imaginations. From the mix of natural wood climbers to brightly coloured balls and pirate ships, there’s so much fun to be had here. There’s also a sand pit and a wooden structure for kids to climb up where they can put sand down the chutes. This is the ultimate outdoor play area for toddlers, tots and more.

Address: Saxonia Boulevard, Brooklands, Milton Keynes MK10 7FQ
Wind In The Willows Play Park
A themed park for Wind In The Willows fans. If your kids have been read the story, watched the film, or learnt about the fairy tale in school, they will absolutely love this play park. It opened just last winter (December 2016) and has brought so much magic to the MK community. Visit the park and discover all of the animal sculptures whilst your little ones have fun on the beautiful and stimulating wooden play equipment. The equipment includes a wooden climbing frame, a wobbly boat, a big swing (plus baby swings), a small tunnel and a wooden assault course.
Address: Petworth, Great Holm, Milton Keynes MK8 9BG
