Dogs Of Tooting Common Launch Christmas Appeal
The Dogs Of Tooting Common Facebook group have launched an appeal this Christmas to help support the Dogs On The Street (DOTS) charity which operates in Balham, Tooting and throughout London.
Dogs On The Streets is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers, who are dedicated to ensuring the welfare of dogs belonging to the UK’s homeless community.
With a fully equipped mobile veterinary surgery vehicle allowing ease of access to dogs in need, DOTS ensures all the essential items and services are provided for free each and every week, from food provisions to new harnesses and leads plus training and grooming sessions.
This year, The Dogs Of Tooting Common would like to ask the local community to offer their support for this wonderful cause to help dogs in Balham and Tooting and are looking for donations. Specifically, they are looking for the following items:
- Shoe boxes with lids, wrapped but left un-sealed
- Pouches of Pedigree Chum
- Dog treats - no rawhide
- Small blankets
- Waste bags
- Story toys - no stuffed animals
- Collapsible bowls
- A winter gift for their owner - thick socks, gloves, vest top etc
There are two ways that these items can be donated:
- They can be dropped off at The Dog House at 72 Emmanuel Road SW12 0HR during opening hours.
- Alternatively, The Dogs Of Tooting Common team will also be collecting items in person from the Tooting Lido car park at 1pm on October 30th, November 6th and November 20th.
To a homeless dog owner, their pet is their world. Any support and donations received will be greatly appreciated and will help both owners and dogs to enjoy a happier Christmas.
